Criminal proceedings can impose significant restrictions on an accused person’s personal freedom and private and professional life. Even at the investigation stage, measures such as searches, seizures or—in particularly serious cases—pre-trial detention can have a profound impact on an individual’s personal circumstances. At the same time, ongoing criminal proceedings can place a considerable burden on both professional and personal life.

Precisely for this reason, criminal defence requires seriousness, clarity and determination. As your defence lawyer, I take the allegations against you and their potential consequences seriously from the outset. Defence should not lose unnecessary time when important decisions are pending or fundamental rights are at stake. I therefore work to ensure that your case is assessed promptly from a legal perspective, necessary steps are taken at an early stage and your rights are consistently protected.

My experience with criminal proceedings extends beyond my current work as a defence lawyer. During my legal traineeship, I worked at the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Hamburg, where I dealt, among other matters, with relationship-related and bodily injury offences. In addition, as a legal journalist, I closely followed and reported on the so-called Block trial over an extended period. These experiences have given me insight into different perspectives on criminal investigations and court proceedings and have sharpened my understanding of the dynamics and practical consequences of criminal proceedings.

These perspectives now inform my work as a criminal defence lawyer.
